Our team recently visited one of our latest projects – the recently refurbished and substantially altered Forge in Woking.

The Forge is a substantially redeveloped office by Advent Capital Investments Ltd in the heart of Woking, a strong south east location. This office redevelopment offers a new level of business accommodation that meets many of the requirements of the post Covid-19 occupier.

Not only was it an enjoyable opportunity to connect, at a distance, with friends and colleagues but it also struck many of us that the property now offered just the sort of space that the market is going to be looking for as our world opens up.

The location has many sustainable attractions, being within the town centre, close to all amenities and with excellent public transport links. This has been enhanced with a strong focus on health and wellbeing – with Cycle Score Platinum rated facilities for bike users, extensive new showers and changing rooms, multi-use exercise studio and an overall design to encourage use of stairs over lifts.

The building is designed to offer a broad variety of communal collaboration space to encourage users to get away from their desks. From the café within the reception through to the wide variety of different spaces incorporated within the new atrium grid all the way up to the sun loungers at the top floor of the grid, occupiers will be able to choose the right space to interact.

Naturally the M&E has also been substantially improved, the gas supply has been removed and modern, efficient air-conditioning with plenty of fresh air will keep occupants comfortable and has helped improve the EPC to a B rating. Links to the building’s Smart Space app will keep everyone informed as well as providing access controls and opportunities to engage with the community.
